Creative Resume
Below I’ve organized a brief portfolio of my recent event, marketing, and design work.
A Texas Tale: Stories of Food Access, Equity, and Resilience with The Cook’s Nook
On December 9th, 2021, sixty charitable attendees and special guests joined The Cook’s Nook in their first annual dinner to support local organizations aimed at increasing food access and equity in our local food systems.
The five-course menu was crafted by chefs Joi Chevalier, Adrian Lipscombe, Uyen Pham, and Robert Hale. Dinner was complete with wine pairings by Bill Norris of 3rd Generation Hospitality (featuring Trinchero Family Estates wines) and specialty cocktails by Rashidi Barrett of Beam Suntory.
The night was made unforgettable thanks to music group Uncommon People and artists who donated to the silent auction. With the help of volunteers, TCN raised nearly $10,000 for Austin-based Multicultural Refugee Coalition and Black Lives Veggies.

Drink & Draw at Patio Dolcetto
Though on a hot summer day, the San Marcos community showed up to support local artists at our Drink and Draw event. Artists received 50% off their tabs while attendees shopped and watched them create en plein-air.
Patio Dolcetto hosted twelve local artists and featured live music from Maandele Effect. We quadrupled our average Sunday afternoon sales and artists had great sales and networking experiences.
I crafted a specialty saké cocktail for the event called “Paint Water” which sold out within the first few hours!
(since you’re here: the drink is saké, triple sec, fresh lemon juice, simple syrup, and coconut milk over ice - topped with bubbly)
Design, Marketing, Social Media: Texas State Strutters
From spring 2018-2020 I maintained all online platforms for the Texas State University Strutters dance team including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Google. I collaborated with the second coordinator on planning cross-platform posts, story posts, and events.
In 2019 I designed a platform rebrand (above) including new profile picture, header, and highlights icon.
I photographed during non-performance times, organized team photoshoots, and created content (above left) including videos.
I orchestrated the restoration of our vintage suitcase props and designed a new text logo.
My involvement with marketing extended to creating posters, flyers, social media promo, designing merchandise, logos, and more.
Social Media continued: Fine Art Student Association
During the same window of time that I was running @txststrutters, I also ran socials for the Fine Art Student Association!
I designed a colorful online appearance for our accounts, which mainly served for internal communication and to promote our organization across campus.
I created numerous flyers, posters, posts, story posts, highlights, and promoted our meetings, events, fundraisers, calls-for-art, and more while maintaining our platforms and responding to all messages and emails.
Social Media continued: Shelby Sult Art
I created @shelbysultart on Instagram to document my art-making practice in 2017 and have maintained and grown this account since, even recently expanding to TikTok and Patreon. I’ve developed my video creation skills and deepened my understanding of different social media algorithms, strategies, trends, and platform updates.
My Patreon header (above) is an example of content I’ve created for my own art accounts. I usually post natively as I go and utilize Instagram Stories heavily for progress updates and sharing other resources. While I also maintain my Squarespace website and shop (shelbysult.com), Instagram serves as a convenient portfolio, a point of contact, and way of engaging in an online community of artists.
Below are examples of TikTok videos I have made to promote my art, which can also be found as Reels on Instagram. Posting to this platform has quadrupled my online following, and I recently used the momentum from a viral video (bottom left) to promote my Patreon.
